Berkshire Tri Squad
Captains Team Challenge
BTS Would like to invite you and your team members to their annual Captains Challenge on Saturday 3th October 2009
The challenge is to complete 10 (11 for the men) laps of a 300m open water swim, 20 (22 for the men) laps of a 2 mile cycle circuit, 10 (11 for the men) laps of a 1 mile run, as a relay of 4 team members.
In sport, men are alleged to have a 10% athletic advantage over women, so it should be a tight race on the day! Our race referee has also worked out a handicap system so all teams should be able to compete at the same level. He is keeping this close to his chest at the moment but the B teams should be able to compete with the A teams.
PLEASE SEE FULL SET OF RULES BELOW.
7:00 – Race briefing
7:30 – Swim start at Bray Lake, Holyport.
8:30 – All teams finish the swim and move across to the George Pub in Holyport for the cycle and run.
9:00 – All athletes are taken on a warm up lap of the cycle and run route to familiarise themselves.
9:30 – Cycle starts – The cyclists will have a staggered start using the intervals established from the swim finishing times. Last cyclist tags the first runner. Therefore there will be a true race for the line.
13:00 – Anticipated finish time.
So what we would like you to do is:
Put together up to 4 teams of 4 men or women:
Mens: A and/or B team
Womens: A and/or B team
Bring your teams and all their kit to Bray Lake in Holyport by 7:00 am on the morning of the 3rd of October 2009. Also bring with you volunteers to help with the time keeping.
